REACH

sustainability

REACH (EC 1907/2006) is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The main aim of REACH is to ensure a high level of protection of human health and the environment against the risks posed by chemicals.

REACH makes industry responsible for assessing and managing these risks and providing appropriate safety information to users. In parallel, the European Union can take additional measures on highly dangerous substances, where there is a need for complementary action at the EU level.

KRONOS has fulfilled all its duties under this Regulation on time.

Substances of non-EU origin that are intended for importation into the EU, either directly or via (semi-)finished goods, must be registered under REACH.

The obligation to register such imports lies with the European importer, but can also be met by an appointed Only Representative (OR) of the non-EU manufacturer.

KRONOS has appointed KRONOS INTERNATIONAL, Inc. as Only Representative.
